Kakelake / Baby Genius Books: How the shop's looking at the mo.

Kakelake is German for cockroach. It's also Eli J. Orzessek's rad new art dealership located within the compound of fun that is Snakepit on High Street, Auckland, New Zealand. It's pronounced kaka-laka (roughly) but if you want to say cake lake, nobody's gonna tell you off.

Baby Genius Books is a big white shelf up on your left when you walk your happy way through the door into Kakelake. Here you can find new local zines, comics and books of drawings we really like, as well as other small-press books hard to find elsewhere. There are some cool old zines for sale, too. And art books. We just want to share good stuff with you. It's all reasonably priced, some of it's even free. Come have a look, thumb through things. It might not be a lending library, but it's not a museum either.
